Alcoholism, also known as alcohol dependence, includes the following four symptoms:
• Cravings – a strong urge, or need, to have a drink.
• Loss of control – the inability to stop
drinking once drinking has begun.
• Physical dependence – Alcohol Withdrawal.
Symptoms include nausea, sweating, the shakes,
and high levels of anxiety after drinking has stopped.
• Increased Tolerance – Needing greater amounts
of alcohol to get the same euphoric feeling.
All four of these symptoms are usually present in an alcohol dependent person. Be honest with yourself… is this you?
